She acted as if she liked one of the takedown stainless models. So I ordered one with the modular stock. She is 5'1 so all of my rifles are way too long.(I'm 6'2) She is a person that typically shops with her eyes and not with practicality in mind. I have had hits and misses over the years. Mostly buying her boots she never wears.

It came in two days ago, but I got delayed on the background check. This is actually better, because I have a hard time not giving someone a gift. I get antsy wanting to give it to them.I told them not to call if the check came through before the 20th. They called today asking for me, but fortunately didn,t say who was calling when my wife answered the phone.

I don't know about the new fangled take down or modular thingies, but your basic birch stock 10/22 carbine has got to be the most universal, make everyone happy, anyone can shoot, plinker in the world. It's sales will back me up on this statement. At camp it can be passed around the camp fire, and anyone of any size shape or age or sex can shoot it well enough to have a big grin on their face and want another magazine. I don't think you'll have to worry about the wife changing her mind on this'n. You will have trouble finding enough ammo maybe.
