Ordered some 147 grn SNS Coated Cast Bullets for the 38 Super Reeder Trail Gun.
Long flat point, grooveless design. This allows a very wide range of seating depths and OAL.
I settled on 1,4" OAL. That's .15" longer than FP bullets in a 1911 magazine. Doesn't sound like much, but that's a great increase in powder capacity.
I'm crowding 1300 fps and believe I can easily reach that in this little revolver.

About 1" at 25 yards. These bullets outperformed the XTP bullets.
This load duplicates the old 38/44 HD loads in a much, much smaller gun.

Sounds great... Last night I was over on the Montana Bullet Works site and they are now casting the SAECO 383 140 grain bullet. It is my favorite cast bullet for the Super. They are not coated however... www.montanabulletworks.com/product/9mm-saeco-383-140gr-swc-pb/Extremely accurate out of my guns and feed perfectly in every Super and 9mm I have tried them from. 6.0 grains of Unique run 1240 from a 4.25" Commander and that isn't even close to a max load. encore64, that's interesting! I would think a slightly bigger bullet in your Super. If you want to try a different size let me know, I make a 140 gr. no lube groove FN, that I powder coat & I can size it .355"-356"-357" or 358". In my 38 Super S&W PC I use.357" (8 shot gun) for best accuracy. I'll give you the bullets. First gun on the far right is my 38 Super. Dick

Dick, the throats in my revolver are just a shade over .355". So larger bullets would spike pressure and be .355" by time they exit the throats anyhow.
Most of the 9mm bullets I've measured have been .353-.354". Regardless if it says .355" on the box or not.
I've got a .355" sizer coming from the Lee Custom Shop. It shipped out yesterday. Hope to see it soon.
Figure I'll push some 357 Mag bullets thru it for a perfect match for my little gun.
Appreciate the offer and you may hear from me. Have a lot of stuff to try out. I'll post the results here.

Received the .355" Lee sizer today. As expected there were no issues Swagging 357 Magnum bullets down to the correct size.
This opens the full gammot of 38 Special / 357 Magnum bullets for use in this gun or my 9mm revolvers.

That should be quite a bit of fun, almost an endless supply of choices now Absolutely my thoughts. But honestly, the SNS 147 gr FN coated bullets are my choice right now.
