Anyone have one of these? I was in Murdocks today to buy a pair of Wranglers. On the way out of the store I swung by sporting goods and picked up a pound of HS6. They had a Classic Model 17 with a 6"(?) barrel. Lord that is a beautiful deep rich blued little revolver. I am really thinking either the SBH or a SRH in .480 Ruger NEEDS to be my next purchase plus I want another Single Seven but in 7 1/2" so I didn't even ask them to get it out of the case. Gorgeous though.

I haven't seen one of those in years, but they are sweet. That would be another good choice for teaching the kids how to shoot, or for working on accuracy.

Can't believe they put the dang lock on the Classic guns though! S&W needs someone with some common sense.

I have a couple of the model 17s. The one in 8" with target grips shoots lights out accurate out to 100 yards. I also have a model 18 that is not quite as fancy, but is a spectacular shooter.
I love the K frame and the 17s are one of the very best.
These are give to the grandkids kind of wheelguns.

Gorgeous though. Dean 17 and 18 are almost identical. 18 has tapered barrel. Both are a great training surrogate for the 19. If the price is right I would buy it. They are getting hard to find in good condition around here. Wilburmay
