I understand the influence and idea but I just can't warm up to it either.

Looking at that hammer is like looking at the skeleton gzmmers David Clements had for sale, not my cup of tea.

I have been pondering the single 6. Related question: does a K22 have an identical barrel thread and shank width?

Interestingly enough this gun has a number of the subtle details Zeus wrote about.

Is that Alan Harton's work?

I have been pondering the single 6. Related question: does a K22 have an identical barrel thread and shank width? Sack, The K22 has to be trimmed and recut. Hamilton has some guidelines about what length you need to start with to finish with your desired final length. I can't recall the specifics, but you lose close to 2 inches. One of my favorite Single Six conversions is a Bowen in .327 Federal Mag with a K22 barrel, Turnbull CCH and Grashorn Dall Sheep grips. Hamilton welds up and reshapes the receiver where it meets the barrel. Excuse the fat finger at the top of the picture - hadn't noticed that! Another favorite SS conversion is this Harton built OM Single Six converted to .41 Special with Desert Big Horn grips by Larry Caudill. While not a conversion in the caliber sense, only a stock Single Six in .32 H&R Mag, this one is still fun. Bisley hammer and blackpowder chamfer by me, with a freespin pawl mod that didn't work due to the size of the SS that Alan welded up for me. He also cut down the barrel and CCH the frame. Tim

squawberryman, that stainless .38 would be near perfection for me, beautiful piece.

Is that Alan Harton's work? It's got to be because the sights are nearly identical to the one he did on my gun

41 Special and 38 super are garnering the most interest for me lately...with the super being set up for .357" bullets instead of 9mm/.355" slugs.
With custom Alan Harton guns on the S6 and midframe Montado I thought I'd prefer the smaller S6. Not so. I actually prefer the Montado. It just balances and feels so good in the hand.
I'm feeling a midframe 480 first, a S6 custom shortly thereafter.

This one That's nice. Welded and contoured top strap with S&W rear it appears. I assume they used the old screw style set up for BP retention? Bisley hamme with hump cut to mate to non Bisley gripframe. That's a slick sixgun or 5

5. Funny, I'd never noticed the lack of base pin latch until I looked at this pic, and yes it has the old screw. Tom Casselman had this gun made by Alan. Hijack, anyone else acquire a gun from Tom? I had a SS blue bisley in 327 I sent to someone he had Alan do. Bisley on a SS looks like a Zika baby to me. Just couldn't warm up to it though 327's steal my heart.

I have to admit, the 40 S&W in an old model piques my interest.
Maybe more than a 41 Special.
