There is one at my LGS for a fair price. Its remarkably tight. Barrel gap under .002".
Grips fit like custom. I'm shocked to see that.
I'm not a big fan on fixed sight guns. Opinions/Information would be appreciated.

I have a Vaquero birds head .45 Colt. Stainless with the grey laminate grips. Great gun, only thing is it shot about 4 inches low for me. Easy fix was 2 minutes with a file and lowered the front sight a tiny bit. Now it's right on the money

Mine has been a great shooter, it prompted me to buy a large framed version in 45 Colt. If you like 45 ACP and a short barrel it's one of my favorites, and I've tried just about all the grip and barrel combos.

Opinions/Information would be appreciated. *** If there is a pocket single action, this is it. According to the owner of the only example I have handled, the piece was returned to Ruger to correct the 8 o’clock Point of Impact. Ruger turned the handsomely polished jewel around with bullets arriving at Point of Aim. A compact bird head .45 ACP wth New Model lockwork is a serious jewel indeed. Thrust in the belt, it comes up fast to a hip shot, the Super Blackhawk hammer paying a real compliment to the continuously curving grip. Oh, the revolver points. My first shots at thrown water jugs gave me fits trying to bite a flash of sights. And no, the front sight by itself is not the secret to speed on aerial targets, as shots will then sail high. Somehow you mash the front sight down into that silver gutter. It is a flash sight picture, with emphasis on PICTURE. No question of power need arise; not a thought should be wasted on hot rodding the .45 ACP. The little birdhead Ruger tames its history-soaked cartridge, a match of ergonomics to recoil, of intention to outcome. David Bradshaw

When one of these in 45acp polished stainless showed up in the counter at the LGS 6 years a go (i think), I couldn't help but check it out every time I went in. There was just something about it I couldn't resist.
I had a dozen or so 1911's around, so the 45acp worked for me.
Mine had very tight throats. It shot jacketed ammo well, but was all over the place with lead. I reamed the throats and cut the forcing cone to 11 degrees and it is now right at home shooting everything I feed it.
The trigger on mine was exceptionally crisp with just the tiniest hint of creep. A 40 oz trigger spring brought it to three pounds, and it rivals the quality of the job David Clements did on my Bisley Hunter trigger. (after the trigger on the Birdshead, I was remarkably upset with the creeeeepy stock trigger on the Bisley Hunter when I got it).
Mine also has a very tight gap on it out of the box. It is quite a handy little blaster, and I love the hammer shape on mine.

I went to the LGS to check out the gun. The info in my O.P. was texted to me by the Shop Manager.
He was right on the money about the gun. The barrel gap was a tight .0015". Throats were almost .452". My .452" pin gauge wanted to fit, but wouldn't quite go. The .451" fit freely with a tad of slack.
The grips were a perfect fit. Why can't Ruger do this on all their revolvers?
I love the flared SBH hammer. Everything about this gun is perfect. The only things I'll change is to install a BLT Mtn Sheriffs model locking base pin and slick up the action.
Thanks to everybody for the info. The gun is only lay a way due to the Christmas budget. But, was too good to let get away.

According to the Davidson's site, 1000 will be 45 Colt and 250 will be 45 acp. As of today, Lipsey's had 12 in stock.

I had one on the original Vaquero and it seemed just big enough to be clumsy over handy. I'm sure on the mid-frame it would be just right.

Are these blued or stainless? I'd love to have a blued one but would prefer the standard grip frame.
