Good evening Gentlemen, one of my favorite 45 loads that I shoot in 1911s is a 185gr pill with 6.2gr. of HP-38. Have been tossing around the idea of picking up a medium frame NewVaquero.... just curious if that would be a compatable load in the bkackhawk/new vaquero? Thanks, Craig

Only the gun can tell you if it likes it or not.
Some guns shoot lights out with many different loads. And others,,, are as picky as a spinster in a lingerie shop.

Pressure wise, it should be fine. As Contender says, only shooting will answer questions about accuracy. I shoot only two loads (interchangeably) in my .45 ACP New Vaquero, mid-frame Flat-Top, and large frame Blackhawks: a 200 SWC driven by 5 gr. 231, and a 230 Truncated cone, driven by 5.2 gr. 231. I used to use 5.5 gr. 231 with a 230 with no problems.
