....that looks like a .5" nose (crimp to)
Now, mine's a WE not the Huntington, but that's quite a bit over the max. Im presuming your frame window is similar
If your interested , you'll see a pic of a recent casting I made in the Reloading section. It a .500 bullet designed for the FA . The crimp to nose should be about .395-- ~ the max
I designed it to be close to 500 grains . Runs about 490 with wheel weight alloy
The last carting run was Lino mass is about 90ish% of that

I think it's too long -- not on the front side, but on the back. What is the intended purpose of the load if you don't mind me asking? If big game is on the menu, I would opt for more meplat and less weight rather than such a heavy bullet. JMHO.
Also, as a side note, the BFR's cylinder is quite a bit longer (BFR = 1.88 vs FA = 1.78) than the FA's allowing for a significantly longer bullet.

Just trying different loafs, powders, bullets. Seeing what I like and what I don't. My favorite so far used a Cast Performance 400gr. WFNGC. But it looks like they discontinued that bullet. I figured this might be too heavy, so no worries there. I appreciate your input.

If a 400 grainer is what you seek, Double Tap produces a good one with a gas check. It purportedly comes out of a real LBT mold.

I would say that bullet is too long for the 500JRH tapered case. I have tried several 500 grain cast bullets and none would fit in the cylinder due to that slight bulge. The only 500 grain bullet I've found is the 500 grain jacketed Hornady - has just a slight bevel on the bottom and the 500JRH case accepts it perfectly.

I thought I had some of those bullets and found them, I went ahead and seated one in a cut down 500 S&W case for the 500 JRH and it does cause a small buldge in the case from the length of the bullet base but it may work (I droped it into my 500 S&W encore bbl and it fit with no more pressure than when I load 500 S&W loads into the chamber. I also locked it up and dry fired it with out any issues so everything locked up correctly for the encore.) I currently do not have a JRH to 100% verify it. (But hope to have one built shortly.) If you pm/IM me I would be happy to send you a few to test in your JRH.
