I recently bought a 375 JDJ barrel for my encore pistol. I am greatly considering a 26" encore rifle matching the same caliber- does anyone have reloading data or would like to share their experiences with the round in the encore since it can handle hotter loads then the contender?

I think more than velocity you will gain as I didn't see a huge increase there over the contender in encore pistol barrel is the ability to use other bullets like the accubonds etc. those are really too soft to run in the contender as they are really soft and can cause pretty dramatic pressure difference is you aren't careful and it doesn't take many to possibly stretch a frame if you aren't careful.

You made a good choice going with the Encore platform. True, the round was conceived and pressure limits set for the Contender in mind however there is not a lot of margin with which to avoid a stretched frame. The Encore solves that and the weight helps to tame recoil. Now there are those who will claim it too heavy and give preference to the Contender - fine. I don't really consider either the "Perfect Packing Pistol" and while I do own and enjoy Contenders in 22 Hornet through 35 Remington, I just prefer this chambering (and the 45-70) in the Encore. I would suggest a rifle barrel of not much more than 20-22" if you decide to go that way. I went with a 16.25" barrel to be able to stock it either way. Good luck!

Groo here The 375 JDJ is one of "Those" rounds that just seems to do it all. Heaver loads you "might " get from SSK , BUT my question is "WHY" From a 14in It will take anything and has. The pressures are low allowing long brass life [at a $1.00 each a good thing!][ my friend got 20 to 30 loadings] No sticking in the chamber [ not good on game that might hurt you back] Ans even shoots cast.

I came home to package containing a 26" stainless encore barrel in 375 JDJ, as funds are limited the rifle project will be pieced together over time. But I'm getting there, can't wait to reload for it

Groo here I might suggest , if that is a factory barrel[TC], to cut it down to 21 inches. The factory barrels seem to have problems when longer than 21in. Shoot it first, If it does not group , chop it!
