I have a friend who has offered me a 67 model 41mag that's an honest 90%, maybe a little better. 4 5/8 bbl and has the box and has not been converted. Looked at GB and other sites at current asking prices and they run from $6 to $1200. Any opinions on a real world fair market price from my brief description? Thanks Bob

$525 or so.......would be fair to the seller and an OK price for you.
He's a friend, right?

To my way of thinking, external condition certainly matters, but if you can, try to shoot it first. If it turns out to be a tack driver it's worth far more that one that shoots mediocre groups.

I think an OM shorty 41 in the condition you mention with the box would start at $600 & go up. I'd give Tyrone $600 to get mine back but I don't think he'd budge, and it didn't have the box.

HAH Dick,, that 41 has decided it likes the winters here better! I recently (in the last 2 months,) added 2 more 41 Ruger OM's to my stable. I paid $425 for a shortie & $450 for a longer barreled one. Now, the original box would have added to the value. So, if you can get it & do not want the box,,, I'd like to talk to ya!

I paid $500 for a 99% with the box out the door from a dealer. I bought it because I thought it was a good investment and I will probably be able to sell it at a profit. The short barrel 41's usually bring a premium because there were a lot less of them made than the 6 1/2". A lot depends how bad you want something as to what you will pay for it. The gun should be worth $450-$500 plus .another $100 for the box if it is in good shape. Everyone have a good day. Ron

Thanks for the informative responses. Maybe I can get it for the $89.95 asking price the original dealer penciled inside the box's top lid!!

Good luck on the $89.95 price. I bought my first Blackhawk for $67.50. It was a 357 Flat Top. I still have it and the box it came in. No, I won't sell it for that. It was my first Ruger that I got when I was 14 years old. I will probably pass it along to one of my Grand Sons, along with some other guns that mean the most to me. Ron
