I googled my subject and ended up here! I hunt with a,Ruger Super Blackhawk with a red dot and have been looking for a decent holster. Most I've seen are huge and made of some kind of very stiff and noisy composite, so I'm hoping y'all have some suggestions! Thx!

Go to www.barrantileather.com & look at Mike's NW hunter rig. Top of the line & I've never heard any complaints. Doc's (Mike is called Doc by many of us,) work is stunning. Look around this site & look for Barranti posts. You will see MANY posts & comments!

Northwest Hunter but Have Mike fit the holster like he does the NWMC for RMRs etc. minimalistic leather on his rigs versus a half side of cow like you mention. Very comfortable and ride well over the course of a day.

Yup, North West Hunter by Barranti, I'll be wearing mine in a few days, hunting muleys in Utah. This is my NWH rig on a spring bear hunt here in Idaho. Dick

The Diamond D chest rig is a good one and fairly light weight. Excellent for just an iron sighted sixgun. www.diamonddcustomleather.com/The 7x is better in just about every way. It's a little heavier built and has less synthetic material. It's fantastic in both design and execution. Wes fitted mine for the specific make and model of red dot I have on my SRH .480. Both designs are easy to adjust for varying layers of clothing and both also have silent retention methods. A thong plus a tension screw on the Diamond D and a strap with Sam Browne button on the 7x. www.7xleather.com

I tried sixshot's #1 NW Hunter by Doc & was duly impressed enought o know I had to have one. It just took me a while to decide WHICH gun it needed to be built for. The El Dorado in 45 colt won the toss.
