A good friend's father, a retired Georgia LEO got killed in a motorcycle wreck a couple of weeks ago. When they went into his gun room to perform an inventory, among other treasures they found on his inventory sheet(He was OCD about his firerarms) a 19-4 that the sheet stated was unfired.
My friend says it appears new, box and papers are there.
I'd like to buy it but I'm not sure what it's worth. I don't want to short him he's a good friend.
Any estimates?

I would go to Gunbroker and peruse similar guns there and see which ones actually have bids on them, not just the asking price. Much will depend on barrel length, vintage etc.

Even better, go to GB and do an advanced search for closed suctions and see what 19-4s actually sold for.

Looks like anywhere from $1,200 and up, depending on blue vs. nickel, barrel length, and the extra "candy". There may be a few that slipped through my search, but informed sellers with those guns, in that condition, get a lot of interest.
