Trying to replicate the 480 load for deer with some of my 325 XTP's.
Ive loaded heavier lead but was wanting to try some of these out. I have manuals, just wandering opinions about which powder you would choose trying to get 1300fps? I've had better luck with 2400 pushing it, but the listed 1300fps load is at the bottom of the spectrum. My bottle of unique is unopened and I've always had luck with HS6 in heavier bullets.
If you want to post loads you've tried that would be fine, I will check all against manuals and HL magazine.
I've got HS6, Unique, and 2400 to choose from.
Thanks.
Zac

This is from loaddata.com starting is 22.8. Max is 26.8 with 2400 powder. Their testing was with the 325 gr Mag bullet. Primer was WLP. Test gun FA 757.
I highly recommend anybody join loaddata. Small price to pay for all the data available.

Thanks, I have that load but the 22.8 was the fps I'm searching for but in a starting load. I thought there might be a better choice than a 2400 starting load.
I've got the books, just wondering which powder with regard to burn, you'd pick to achieve that velocity,

I did see some unique loads but the fps was slower than you were looking for. Didn't check HS-6, if you are still interested I can when I get back home. Just let me know.

Thanks Magman. I guess I hoping for an answer like if I was aiming for 1300fps with a 325XTP and those powders in my cubbord I'd grab ________ first and load up some rounds.
All three of those powders can load close to what I need, except maybe Unique tops out a little short. I think I'll start with 2400 and hope for the best.

I think 2400 is a danged fine powder for your application, H110 is probably the top dog for most guys but the factory load is really not that hard to match and 2400 should get you there.
