OK guys. I have a proposition. I am about to jump off in to the land of reloading and possibly casting too. Can not believe it has taken me this long. I am looking for a mentor who can point me in the right direction, be available for a quick phone call and even possibly come to my home to help me out. Yes I know there are books and videos, and I will be doing that too but having that one or two experienced persons who you can just call or visit with to bounce questions and ideas off of is seems invaluable to me. In trade I am willing to trade access to my hunting land. I personal have 120 acres I own, and another 1000 acres that I lease. I live in Dublin GA (Middle GA area about half way between Macon and Savannah on 1-16). The 120 acres is old farm land consisting of old fields and pastures with hardwood finger bottom branches. The 1000 acres in half plantation pines and half river swamp bordering the Oconee river. The 2 properties are 3 miles apart. The leased land also borders the lower tract to River Bend WMA with is 3500 acres of public land. We have deer, turkey and wild hogs. Small game to if that interests you.

An amazing offer ! I hope you find a mentor nearby. Friendship to follow. When 2 boyhood friends and I all turned 21 we bought .44's. They bought M29's and I a SBH.. Within a year we started to buy reloading tools and manuals and components. I'm in far NE corner of Ohio so.. Luck !

I am not in Georgia (a little south in central Florida) but I would be glad to answer questions and help you anyway I can. I have been reloading for 30 years handgun, rifle and shotgun although after last move I got out of shotgun reloading but may jump back in soon. I also cast bullets, swedge bullets and spend way too much time working and not doing the fun stuff. I will send you a private message with contact info.

I have a few thousand acres that I hunt & share with a few friends, its owned mostly by my uncle, his name is SAM, uncle SAM. I'd be happy to share a phone visit with you if you have a few questions about reloading, casting, etc. I'll send you a PM. Hopefully good friend Ken O'Neill will jump in, he's close to your neighborhood & is a walking reloading manual if you need some help. Plus he's an old Marine!

Again I really appreciate the offers to help. Really not a surprise though as this forum's community just seems to be full of great people. Thanks Again Folks Chris

Uncle Sam, that's funny. Karla Vanhorn lives in Jasper. she could make you a damn petty holster.

I'm not a master, but have been loading shotshells for almost 30 years and handguns for about 20. Just getting into rifles (.30 Remington ammo is scarce!) and not a caster although I really want to start. I'm in Stillmore GA, which is about 45 miles from you down I-16. If there is any way I can help just drop me a line.
