Had mine for probably 15 years...well worth the money... Actually had an OM and NM and ended up selling the NM. One thing to be aware of is the front sight blade is a tad low. With the rear blade bottomed out POI was still several inches high at 25 yards with both guns. Had a smith mill the original ramp off the OM and mil in a Patridge of proper height... With a FA 97/.327 6.5"..... Loading an Accurate 31-120S at 1480 fps with AA7.... Bob

SIXSHOT? ? I dare say you have inflicted more than your share of damage too Fermine. The 38/40 32/20 and 32 H&R's in my safe quickly come to mind.

Be advised that the old model 30 carbines will NOT accept a 32-20 round without modifications (cutting for the rim) to the cylinder. However, a NEW model 30 carbine will accept a 32-20 round with no mods. I tried to get a 32-20 round into my OM 30 to no avail. Even tried filing down the base of the case, but too much would have to be removed, primers would stick out, etc. Also, if you get a 30, make sure you get all the same brass (brand-wise), as variations in length will drive you mad in reloading and shooting! After shooting the 30 for 30 years, I feel somewhat confident in espousing what I know about it. Good luck, and wear ear plugs AND ear muffs!!!

My plan is to shoot it as a 30 Carbine with .309" cast bullets. I'm not worried about the front sight as that isn't too hard to fix and besides, I might just put a scope on it. Hmmm, a New Model, with a SBH frame hammer and trigger and a 10" custom tube. Perhaps all I really need is a cylinder along with a SBH new model donor....
