It is possible I have done it, not with a 41mag but I hunted with a 44mag SBH hunter an original from 92/93 mfg date, a lot and have take game at 15 to just over 100yds one shot kills, and I never tracked an animal 99% dropped in their tracks using a 44, especially with 270 -300 gr loads.
However I started with 240 xtp's,then 300 xtp, I like 275gr best in jacketed HP's. Most accurate lead was 250gr Keith SWC hard cast using Max load of H-110 and I admit over max (safe in my gun, no real pressure signs) **But, mine gun like my other rugers, the faster I push them, the more accurate they get, with my gun going over max was still very accurate (all 6 rds in the "X" ring at 100yds. But at a point accuracy starts to drop off.
No I did not need that kind of load for whitetails and black bear, are avg whitetail was 200lbs+. But I did it bc I could shoot accurately over 100yds with less drop out to 150yds with a 7 1/2" SBH Hunter model.
The Keith rounds were Leadhead's (same as cor-bon uses) or a local gunshow guys back in NY, I still have some loaded but hardly use them, deer are much smaller here in TX than NY and no bear, hogs are not that hard to kill either. those hard cast 250 & 320gr loads will take a cape buffalo or Kodiak. so really its overkill with one big wound channel.
I have a 41mag BH that when I used it in NY was 6.5" barrel, now 4 5/8. The loads I used were 21grs of H-110 using 220 Keith SWC hard cast Leadhead bullet and 210gr xtp's with 22.5grs H-110 max. Accurate but not like the 44 and not as easy with the 41 as it was with the 44 @ 100yds go figure get 10 41mags all the same gun and loads not all will shoot the same.
Remember the above loads were for hunting not benchrest shooting, I loaded them fairly quickly, I didn't weigh cases, etc.
I do recommend you seat your bullets then crimp them separately using a Lee factory crimp die, effortless strong crimps, I use them in all my guns and never had a bullet walk out no matter caliber.
"IMO" Really SA handgun accuracy is based on 2 sole characteristics- 1) How the gun was built/tolerances. and 2) The shooter doing his/her part period!
