Shot some PC coated bullets for the first time yesterday and noticed a strange smell. The PC burning? 100 gr. bullets in a 327 Mag over Power Pistol.

My experience is limited but I think Hi-Tek coated bullets have the most pronounced odor. The least smelly are from The Blue Bullets.

I've shot PC bullets from Missouri Bullet, Bayou, and ACME and they all have the peculiar odor - kinda reminds me of an electrical fire.

...they all have the peculiar odor - kinda reminds me of an electrical fire. Plastic is made from petroleum, and petroleum is made from plants and animals, and plants and animals are natural, therefore plastic is natural....and fire is a natural occurrence, therefore burning plastic is natural and must be good for you. Don't worry about it.

Paden,,, I like your logic!
Reminded me of Miss Penny's comment; "Chocolate is a vegetable. It's made from a bean, and beans are a vegetable,, so it's part of a healthy diet to eat chocolate."
Who cares how a PC bullet smells,,, it's how they perform downrange that counts!

Paden,,, I like your logic! Aye, but how do you like my sarcasm? Ricin is made from a bean too, just say'n.If I smell burning plastic I head for the nearest exit! To each his own and every man for himself!
