Okay which one of you ran me up so high on the 401 Powermag brass on GB. It hurt a little but I really wanted it and ended up paying too much for it. Oh well, 401 brass is next to impossible to find, especially new brass. I have quite a bit I made from new 41 mag brass but it will be nice to have some properly head stamped.

wasn't me... but I bid on some new Winchester 30-40 Krag brass ( early on ) & that ended up selling for around $3.00 a case... about twice what I had hoped to buy it for...

It's staggering what brass for some of the less popular chamberings is going for now. I lucked out on some 30-40 brass a couple of years ago at a dealer, new Winchester, 100 for 39.95. I wish there had been more than that but that was all he had. I haven't seen any recently. This 401 brass is the first I've ever run onto that wasn't with a gun for sale. I emailed Starline just a few days ago about running some 401 Powermag brass. I asked how much brass someone, or a group, would have to commit to for them to run a batch. They haven't gotten back to me yet.

There is a custom cartridge company out there that has .401 brass, I found it last year while looking for other thing but I do not remember who it was nor am i going do the long search I found it on as the lap top it is book marked on has serious problems.
Search using the term obsolete brass for sale, custom pistol brass or something similar and you will be surprised what is actually out there.

WOW... that thing has a humungous hump for the adjustable rear sight... price seems very reasonable though...

That's a great price considering it includes the brass and dies. I'll not admit to just how much I've spent on brass and dies to feed mine but it hasn't been cheap. Someone ought to buy that. I would but getting ammo shipped to Alaska is a huge headache and I already have Powermags in 401 and 44. I'd like to find one in 357 but I think they are the hardest to find. The Powermags are a good solid revolver, albeit a bit homely but a good strong revolver. It's a simple matter to resize 41 magnum cast bullets to work in the 401.
