For some reason that I truly can't explain, I am utterly OBSESSED with this cartridge. I know it was in an AMT Automag bit those are rare as hen's teeth. So my best bet is a T/C Encore or a converted 610. The latter is expensive and sacrifices a rare discontinued gun. Thoughts on this? Experiences?

I have a S&W Model 610 6.5" with two cylinders, one in 10mm and the other in 10mm mag. I bought two extra 10mm cylinders when they were available and had JD Jones at SSK fit and rechamber one. The other I hope to do the same with my 5" 610. I also have a 10" Contender barrel from Bullberry in 10mm mag. Brass is readily available from Starline. Love the 10mm but haven't shot the mag.enough to really comment though I plan on remedying that fairly soon. I'm sure it won't do anything you can't do with a 41 mag. but it's something different and has a certain cool factor. If you like the 10mm it's just more of a good thing.

the 10 Mag in a 610 is my favorite platform... though I love my Automag 4, I'm not partial to losing cases, so I only fire it in controlled situations...
my 610 had excessive head space from the factory, when purchased new, & after 3 trips back to S&W, with the problem not corrected, a personal note from the regional sales rep, got my gun fixed on it's 4th trip... ( I swear they tinkered with the trigger, rather than fixing the cylinder each time it went back, as it now has the 2nd nicest double action trigger I own ) as a reloader, I pretty much only shoot 10 Mag cases in the gun, just down loading to 40 S&W or 10mm levels if I want something of lower velocity...
BTW... I also have a 10" Contender barrel, that started as a 10mm barrel, that I used my chamber reamer on to make it a 10 Mag barrel... so I have my bases covered in platforms, & this last year, bought my 2nd 1000 Starline cases
