I just got a new Kimber 8400 Montana 338 Win Mag (SS & Synthetic) and trying to decide on scope mounts... I plan on mounting a Leupold of some flavor, either a Fixed 6x42, a 2.5-8x36, or a 3-9x40. I have the Talley Light Weight 2 pc scope mounts on only one other rifle, a Forbes Ultralight 308 Win, and they seem to be a good set of mounts so far.
Do any of you guys use the Talley Lt Wt's, and if so how do you like them?
Any complaints/Problems with them??
Any other suggestions for rings/mounts?
Thank you... Ray

I use TLW's on my Kimber and have no complaints. I did use the lapping tool to true it up but I'm not sure how necessary it was. It's just something I do.
I also run a Leupy 6x42 with the LR recticle and like it very much. Very lightweight with no moving parts to fail.

I have several rifles with Talley steel mounts and also an ULA with LW and all are great.

Several sets on NULA rifles and never an issue.

"Thumbs up" for the several sets I've used.

Put a set of Talley lt weights on a Montana, everything seemed to go on easily, no binding, like them so far. Little .257 Roberts, not really any stress from recoil on them..

I have Talleys on a Rifles Inc Remington 700 in 7 Mag and they do just fine, light weight and plenty strong. I just don't care for the look of them. I much prefer those offered here: www.scopemounts.com/index.html?main.htmlI've got them on Kimber Montanas in 260 and 308, a Weatherby Ultralite MK V in 284 Winchester caliber, and on a Rem 700 in 257 Weatherby. They bases are tiny and nicely sculpted, and the rings are a single projectionless strip of steel wrapped around the scope tube. They have the added benefit of being windage adjustable, front and rear. They're kinda along the lines of the Conetrol rings (some of which I also have) without the complexity of fitting four separate components.

Majorkap: I really like the looks of those s&k rings. Do you think theor rings would work ok with sw pc .460 bone collector?
