I've been using Smoke@paintballkingdom.com in gloss black & its been very good. Dick Thanks, Dick.... I now remember Smoke from CB forum, I thought it sounded familiar...
Dick, Did you ever use the HF Red? If so, how would you compare it to this PC from Smoke??....... Is the difference like night & day?
Thanks Ray

Ray, I've shot a lot more HF Red than I have of anything else & it works very well. The Smoke that I mention is a higher quality paint that I've been using for a few months & it coats better although I haven't shot enough to actually tell you it is better. I bought 2 lbs & it will last for a very long time.

I've been using Smoke's powder in silver - full coverage, easy to use. I have also mixed the silver with his gloss black (2:1) and get a nice darker gray, almost like lead.

Does the powder coat cause issues with seating the checks? It seems like it might be thick enough that it would. Anybody have any experience with this? Thanks.

If the gas check is a tight fit to begin with I seat it first and then powder coat. If it is a loose fit I use the powder coat to help cure that by PC first then gas check Hope that helps

38WCF is corect, if the GC is tight before you powder coat then of course its going to be tighter when you try to seat. Most times this is not a problem but it can happen. I've said many times I don't like using GC's but I do use them for the 357 Maximum & the 327's, there's really no way to really lean on those calibers without a GC, you can come close but not full power in my opinion when PC'ing.
