I'm looking for some Ruger level 38-40 loads for the Buckeye 6 1/2" barrel. Something more than than the 800 fps 200gr cowboy loads. Can you offer me some or point me in the right direction.

Thanks Tim. I just bought a Buckeye 38-40 and Andy Horvath is finishing up one for me.

Even standard pressure loads will yield 1200fps with 180's.
Google Taffin Tests the .38-40.

Since the 38-40 is the original 10mm, I'd suggest going to www.10mm-firearms.com . I'm a member there and there are several posts on the 38-40. There is one member from Northern California that has worked up some screaming loads for the Ruger. I've fired them, they are impressive.
