Called a gun shop yesterday and they said they had a Ruger Bisley chambered in 480. Since I was travelling in the area and only 30 minutes away, normally over an hour from my house I decided to go buy it. Well guess what, it was sold, the salesman at the counter looked all over and couldn't find it, after asking someone else found out it wasn't there. What a letdown, no apology, no offer to try to get me one, nothing and this is from one of Pa's biggest gun shop. So, now back to the waiting game.

Almost forgot, they did have a 454 Bisley in the case.

And that's why if it's something I really think I want, I give them the card no. over the phone. That's awful that you got juked by such a small margin, especially for something that everyone has been waiting for. Sometimes attitudes at the bigger gun emporiums aren't stellar.
Local dealer here has an email list for consignments, and when that email comes in, you gotta be fast.

I don't think it was sold on my way to the shop but a day or two earlier. Their computer inventory said they had it and the salesman at the counter thought it was there.

That's even worse on them.

I'd have kicked over a chair on my way out.
