Wow, that is a fine looking shooter. I need a nice .41 mag single action, maybe I should look at Freedon Arms?

I have two .41s by FA...a 654 (early 83) with a 6" barrel and black Micarta grips and a 97 4.25" with round butt black Micarta grips...could not be happier. There is a nice 7.5" 83 Field Grade for sale on GunBroker now for $1500.00. .41s don't come up for sale all that often and when the do they don't usually last long if priced right...

WowZers ,,,,, that Sir, is a F I N E Lookin Shootin Iron, Yessssir! Congrats to you.
Hope she shoots least half as good as it looks. Cant wait to see the range report(s) when you can.
I hope someday to own a FA myself, maybe in 44 or 454.
How does the grip on the FA feel compared to the Ruger SBH or Bisley? Is the grip any longer than the Ruger SBH???
I have a SBH and I find the grip too short with my little finger trying to find some property to hang on to. I use the rubber Hogue's and that helps but, they just don't look right on a nice SA sixgun IMHO... I need to get ahold of a Bisley to see if its any better...?
Enjoy that Beauty, and thanks.

I ordered mine from the same lot that that M83 came in, when I placed the order the dealer kind of laughed and said he just ordered a nearly identical one the day before. He said they usually sell very fast so snatch em' up if you can.

It sure is beautiful. The only thing that sours me on the FA is that they should only be carried with 4 in the cylinder. I have talked to Bowen regarding that and he recommends the same.

Yes 4 is the rule but what problem are you likely to run into that 5 shots would fix and 4 wouldnt? These are powerful guns that are not going to hose a target down, they are shot deliberately and slowly. I have a twin to this gun in 475 with a 480 cylinder, and while part of my head does think that having 4 shots is a issue I can say with certainly that in the 7 or 8 years I have owned the gun this has never been an issue. Just my two cents...

I think it is more of a principle thing. Totally gorgeous pieces though. I like how Syfried put it - they took the best of a bank vault and a swiss watch, melted them down and made it into a revolver.

I finally get to shoot it today, just some informal fun with steel for now. Tomorrow we're doing to 100yd targets, I'm very excited!

Very nice piece and one that should keep you entertained for quite a while. I do believe I'd go with heavier bullets than 155g in 45acp. Of course I could be wrong. Have fun!!

The 155gr were about a foot low but lots of fun. Tomorrow she'll get the real stuff.

No, the FA-97 has a transfer bar built into the hammer. Works similar to the Ruger Blackhawk.
