Ok guys,
I've had several emails about this mold recently with the announcement from Ruger of the upcoming 480 Ruger. I talked with Miha and he has approximately 30 mold blocks ready to cut for this mold at this time so this could be a very fast turnaround for us that are wanting more of this mold.
Background if you need it is this:
When I had this bullet drawn up about 4-5 years ago, we set it up with two sets of crimp grooves. It will fit FA cylinders or custom long cylindered guns in the 475LB. Weight is about 410 for the solid and 385 with the large HP. I also set the HP cavity depth to leave approximately one bullet diameter in length if you were to shear off the nose on a critter. This allows the bullet to continue to travel straight after the "encounter" This was because of old articles from Ross Seyfried. After watching it shear noses on large hogs in the past, I can attest that this is true, I have had perfect exits on the offside with MAJOR damage in the internals and no bullet veering. Entry and exits have been in line and I'm very pleased with the outcome of the bullets performance. I have shot hogs and bison with the slug and buddies have shot moose, deer, hogs, etc. Everyone has been pleased so far that I'm aware of. Groups with my FA guns have been exceptional out to 100 yards but that is as far as I've shot it for groups. At 25, its a ragged hole.
I am only running this mold in one configuration and we will not alter it. It will come as a 2 cavity plain base mold with a set of large HP pins and a set of blank pins. The pertinent information is in the sign up post on Cast Bullet active buy forum at the following link:

This has been an exceptional slug. It took me a LONG time to get the original molds done but it was well worth the wait, however, with this being the third run, we already know what to expect and know that its an accurate and very effective slug. I have the sign up time initially set up as a short turnaround due to the fact that the molds are ready to go and we could have our molds quickly if we don't have to leave the buy open for 2 months. I will extend it as needed to get the total number up to where we need it to make the buy work out for Miha.
So, if you have wanted one or need an extra, here is your chance to get one. Here are a few pics of the mold and expanded/recovered slug from one of the more recent outings. The last hog I shot with it, there were no recovered slugs. Do a search for SCHunter's post here on his deer last Winter as well, it was awesome and DRT performance! All of the bullets I have used at this point were cast by Sixshot in a 70/30 WW/pure lead mix and they work great at 1100 fps.
Here are a few pics of this bullet recovered from a hog this past Winter. Load was 1100 fps from a 475 Linebaugh. All of the recovered slugs we have at this point look exactly the same. .95" expanded diameter roughly and basically 100% weight retention. Accuracy has been exceptional!
