I have a pair of Elephant Ivory stocks for a 1911 and a pair that fit a XR3-RED. What do you see going to happen in the future as far as ownership being. The grapevine is full of anything your care to believe.

Do you have any documentation supporting that the were made from pre-ban ivory?

No that is what is my worry. Can anything be done? I will say the 1911 set came from a maker that's on this site, the other has passed away.

Call your Congressmen and demand that they vote in favor of the current legislation that's been proposed to protect the legal ivory trade.

it's been a while since I looked into it but from what I understand the new law would only require you to prove it was antique ivory if you planned to sell it. what you have now would still be legal to own and use. at the moment the law hasn't taken effect so it is still legal to buy and sell with out documentation. of course that could all change in the future.
and as Craig said call or email your representatives and demand that they vote in favor of the legal ivory trade.

As I understand it, changing the status of ownership after the fact would come under the heading of "ex post facto" and is specifically prohibited in the US constitution.
