Had Alan put this together for me. Previous owner converted it from a 44-40 to a .44 Special. That means my non original cylinder doesn't have all those stamps they normally do. Changed directions a couple times and ended up with a $900 invoice on a $450 gun. It came with a wide trigger, we added a Taylor's Runnin' Iron hammer with a low wide spur. Trimmed the barrel to 4" mate up with a short ERH from Taylor's. Installed the Colt Shooting Master front sight that originally came on the shooting master barrel that was on my FTT Colt. Turned it around backwards from the original orientation and reshaped the blade. Does it look like another front sight we all know? One piece grips are made by Alan from Witch Hazel Corian.

Oooh, I like that! Did Harton have any misgivings about doing this to a Uberti? Did he take extra steps to ensure longevity?
I know we all kinda have an attitude about spending a bunch of money on a Uberti but maybe that's something we need to revisit? They've greatly improved their guns over the last decade, perhaps to the point that we should consider it a good investment to spiff one up. I was thinking about taking that .44-40 flat-top, fitting it with another cylinder in .44Spl, an 1860 Army grip frame, maybe cutting the barrel back to 5.5" and turning down the tip of the barrel to resemble the #5. The innards can be slicked up and hardened. The frame can be case hardened (not just colored) as well.
