I am looking into replacing the Bearcat I sold to fund my first custom. Was thinking Bearcat, but I'm open to other options.
So, what else is fun?

As much as I want to like the Bearcats I just can't hold onto the things worth a lick. This single ten is coming along nicely. Chopped to 3.75", xr3-red short frame added, bowen rear, and a bisley hammer. Makes a nice trainer to my talo super. Need to finish up the grip frame, front sight height, and cut down a set of stags to finish it. Had it about done with the full size red frame but it didn't look proportional.

Not my photo, but I have one of these Uberti Cattleman 12 shot .22's. They are the same size as their centerfire counterparts.

In revolvers I am fond on my Ruger Single Six Hunter. It has an interchangeable front sight and it's easy to scope or install electronic sight on.
Also, it has both 22 LR & 22 WMR cylinders.
Really hard to beat if you like to try different things from time to time.

Ruger man that I am, I have to say thish Uberti Stallion .22 is my pick of the .22s. It is somewhat more petite than the Ruger Single Six, not quite on the verge of becoming a collector's item, and gladdens the hand: Shoots O.K., too! Bob Wright

4 5/8" Stainless Single Six. I had one cut to that length. Later I found out that Lipsey's has Ruger do a few of them on a regular basis. I believe the one from Lipsey's doesn't cost any more than any other stainless Single Six.

The Colt Frontier Scout and Peacemaker 22s (no longer in production but out there) are sweet revolvers.

When I got this Frontier Scout, it shot WAY low (18") and left (4") and the bluing was in bad shape. Thanks to Alan Harton , it's now my favorite single action .22.

Since we are talking SAs, I have had a bunch but have cut it down to three... USFA Flat Top Target with LR and Magnum cylinders... Matches a Clements Custom .41 Special... Number 2...FA 97 5.5"....one day would like to have a Magnum cylinder fitted...(top is a .32 and bottom a .41) Last is a Ruger Hunter...hard to beat in the accuracy department...would be an excellent survival gun...

For the money it is hard to beat a Ruger Single Ten as far as single actions go. I have one of the stainless Lipsey models with the 4 5/8 barrel. Easy to shoot well, handy to carry and now has a decent trigger after my smith worked on it.
But my favorite is still the Freedom Arms 97 with octagon barrel and both cylinders.
