Stan I think I learned a bit when famed NCNG Armorer Janos Videcki built me a super accurate 1911 in 1980, but I'd love to have a copy of this as an historical document/reference. Thanks a lot. kkoneill@centurylink.net

AxeHandle.... beaucoup thanks, expect to put flap my eyeball on it soon. Spent this afternoon tuning finger on a homely old K-22 and a refuse-to-get-the-blues Les Baer Super Tac. David Bradshaw

Basically good stuff.. From back before there were all these quality CNC slides and frames were available. I can't date it absolutely but can point to signs that put the origin back in the 70s if not 60s. Gives some insight into the source of all the 1911 tools that you see in Brownell's. It will make you a better judge of 1911s in general. All that glitters is not gold. You will understand why I not only push the hood down but also pull out the slide stop and look at wear marks. You will know why I spent $500 to have a new barrel fitted to a new Les Baer 1911. I know that you are thinking.. "Oh but the 1911s are much more accurate than they were then." Objective evidence says otherwise. This is the process that built the guns that shot the records in the books that have stood since the 1970s. Records set with 5 inch barrel iron sighted 1911s.
