Was finally warm enough to spend an entire afternoon at the range without having ones hands go numb from the cold... Brought three SAs with me with several experimental loads. This was the three... FA 653 6" .41 Magnum, a Gary Reeder Custom .41 and a newly acquired FA 97 .327 Federal with a custom ordered 6.5" barrel and #3 action job... Ammo was on the heavy side for the .41s...a Mountain Molds 300 grain boolit with 19.0 grains of H110. Velocity is pushing 1300 fps.. Range was 25 yards and have to admit that this is about all the recoil I want to absorb... Had two more loads with an Accurate 41-250F and 41-250L both loaded with 22.0 grains of H110...these will be a little over 1400 fps...forgot to take pics of the groups but every boolit but one landed where called. The 97/.327 was shooting an Accurate Mold 31-120S...really impressive looking boolit for just a .32... Two low shots were the first two with the rear sight bottomed out. Then brought up about 6 clicks to zero... Not the best shooting I have ever done but at least I can now start enjoying the season.... Bob

Those were the first shots fired of the day... The last shots of the day were seven rounds of the 41-250L load out of the FA 654. Six out of seven went into the circle and of course I pulled the last one 3" south... This the 300... This is an Accurate 41-215V....the 41-250F is just like it but with another lube groove and driving band... I didn't think it was going to be accurate with that .37 meplat but it cuts nice round holes at 100 yards...and is accurate. In the process of lube/sizing the last batch of 300 now... Bob

Accurate 31-120S: www.accuratemolds.com/bullet_detail.php?bullet=31-120S-D.pngTo be honest...and this is the second time this has happened....I bought the gun because I loved the boolit. A friend who bought one of the Single-Sevens asked for a recommendation on a cast boolit...when I found this one I just wanted to get a gun to shoot it also...that is how I ended up with that 97/6.5"... Did the same with the Speer .44 Magnum 200 grain Gold Dot Hollow Point Short Barrel Load...was so impressed by the round I ended up getting a S&W 629 Mountain Revolver to shoot it out of...and still have it. Here are the Accurate boolits...41-215V, 41-250F and 41-250L www.accuratemolds.com/bullet_detail.php?bullet=41-215V-D.pngwww.accuratemolds.com/bullet_detail.php?bullet=41-250F-D.pngwww.accuratemolds.com/bullet_detail.php?bullet=41-250L-D.pngWas so impressed the way the 215V shot I asked the owner to make a 250 grain version for me...that became the 250F. Have decided that the 250L gas check boolit will be my high velocity round backed by 22.0 grains of H110 which should run 1400 fps from a 6". The 250F will be the target round. Not sure what the powder or charge will be but it will be in the 1100 fps range... Bob
