bushog, thanks for the insight. Unfortunately, insurance could cover the value of the Colts, and the value of making the two custom revolvers I have, but if I ever lost the two customs, it would be a sad day indeed. hours, days and miles with them. on horseback, hiking sitting in a stand or blind. Following hounds and running a trapline. the bluing wear and nicks on the grips. aging of the holsters from wear.......irreplaceable. My son has already laid claim to my .44 special. at 14 he gets it and likes SA revolvers better than anything tacticool. he looks forward (hopefully not too much lol) to the day he will get to take it and add to the bluing wear on a gun his dad carried everywhere when 'out there'.

Yeah, I know all that. Been there.
I was simply answering your question about the Colts.
And...If anything were to happen to your customs (and yes it can happen to you) you'll feel a bunch better if there are some sheckels in your pocket to pay for a new one.
