I'm looking for suggestions for travel (airline rated) cases for carrying sixguns. There's alot out there for rifles, but not very many handgun cases that can accommodate long-barreled sixguns. Any particular brands to look at or stay away from? I've had good luck with Pelican cases for rifles and cameras, but they don't seem to have a size that would work well for carrying two or three big frame revolvers.

If you're talking 10-inch, long cylinder BFR, then yes, it's gonna be a tough search for something off the shelf. You might be able to squeeze a trio in a Pelican laptop case, but it'd be tight. Another option would be to simply use a AR-sized long gun case and have a bit of room to spare.

I like Negrini cases a lot. You can make them the way you want them on the inside, to accommodate whatever firearm you are carrying. Here are a couple of examples of mine. The second photo was the setup I used for my hunting trip to Argentina last August. Sorry for the terrible photo quality.

Pelican 2 Pistol case is about perfect for my hunting needs and any reasonable day at the range. The "pluck it" foam is easy to get to a shape that fits 2 guns or 1 gun with ammo (not while flying of course). I would buy another if I ever needed it, don't know how I would, in the USMC we used Pelican cases for both .50 cal SASR and M40, they went through much more than I will ever put these pistols through. I don't fly much with guns but I've had this one down to Texas a few times and elsewhere out west and I like using 2 TSA locks on it as it has one hole on each corner.

Let me add that the Negrini cases are pretty slim and not bulky in the least. They're easy to travel with. For what it's worth......

Another vote for Negrini, they are slim, lightweight and tough as nails.
If there good enough for Beretta, Perrazzi and H&H to name a few, damn sure good enough for my guns

IF THEY ARE STILL AVAILABLE CHECK OUT BROWNING. I USED THEIRS TO GO TO AFRICA IN '95. I CUT OUT THE SUPPLIED FOAM INSERT TO FIT TWO T/Cs, 14" AND 12", FA 7-1/2" .454 , ALL WITH SCOPES PLUS MY SWAROVSKI BINOCULARS. VERY SECURE AND STURDY. IT IS ABOUT THE SIZE OF A LARGE SUITCASE.

Up until I discovered Negrini, I would've jumped on a Pelican. Right now, I've got a full leather double pistol case ordered from Negrini.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I'll have to check out the Negrini cases. I've had good luck with Pelican cases over the years, but they're bulkier and heavier than I need for my purposes.

I have one of the cases you described. I use it for a takedown shotgun case. I love it. I bought mine about 6 years ago. Not sure if they are still available.

Those Negrini's are sleek. Reasonably priced too.
