Ben "Bear Man" Kilham with Winchester Model 54 Super Grade in .22 Hornet with vintage Unertl scope
Ben Kilhan with WW II Remington 1903-A3 USMC sniper rifle, with star gauge barrel and Unertl 8x scope. External adjustment micrometer rings. Rollmark----USMC Sniper----on tube just forward of eyepiece. Unertl replaced reticle, telling Kilham this is the lowest serial number of the Marine contract scopes to pass through the shop.
Accuracy of Rem 03-A3 Marine Sniper rifles firing M2 Ball 150 FMJ tested 6.5-inches @ 600 yards. Groups with with .30-06 National Match 173 FMJBT from 1960's recorded 3.5-inches @ 600 yards.
David and Ben Kilham jawbone the roller coaster of of twentieth century Colt firearms from superb to horrible. Kilham worked in the Colt Custom Shop.
Tomkins single shot .22LR pistol. One of reportedly 200 made between 1947 and 1953. Fine tool work throughout. Hinged breech block with single action hammer. No revolver could hold a trigger this clean and light. Trigger more like that of a bench rest rifle.
Tomkins .22LR looks like a silhouette pistol before its time. Immaculately fitted Tomkins breech block.
Never heard of anyone shooting rimfire silhouette with a Tomkins. Yes indeed, a real don't-breathe-on-it trigger.
