I love all the different fire burst grain in Box Elder Burl, a fellow from New Jersey had bought the pair off my gun last fall when he stopped in & I had to get another pair made up for my own gun, these turned out really nice. Just sent 2 pair to Utah, one set for a Single Seven & another pair for a stainless 41 Bisley. Shipping a pair tomorrow to Colorado for an N frame S&W.

Those are real nice, Dick, but I still prefer the holly. However.....

They from a distance resemble Dall Sheep grips I think. I like how when they are finished you get layers of grain in the wood, very pretty.

I had John Gallagher make a set of box elder burl grips for a brass bisley gripframed custom one time and for the life of my I do not know why I let a guy talk me out of them! The are some of the prettiest grips I have ever had.

Good stuff Sixshot! I don't know if you had a waiting list for commissioned grips before, but after these threads I bet you do!! Lotta talent in that Thompson family...
