I picked up a Smith & Wesson 38-44 that had been extremely well used in a local bullseye league. I contacted a couple gunsmiths who weren't interested in touching it before contacting Mr Harton who was enthusiastic about working on it if I didn't mind waiting 4-5 months. I thought that was great so I boxed it up and off it went. I asked if he could go thru it and replace any worn parts and reblue it. Just got it back and am extremely pleased. Looks and operates like a brand new old Smith. Before After

That turned out great. Nice Old Smith. Were there any mechanical or tolerance issues that had to be dealt with?

Precisely why Alan has been my builder of nearly all my customs. He will do about anything one desires. I have given him sketches of front sights and hammers and he just does it. No one, IME, is as "open minded" as he.
