A sight upgrade is definitely an advantage for long range shooting. 2 Dogs gave me a 357 Max that Alan Harton breathed on.

Everyone is hung up on a hard cast bullet. I quit water dropping a couple of years ago. I am using WW and then two lb of dead soft and some tin in my twenty pound pot. You don't want the gas check but in my findings it will give a good edge on a plain base. The bullets steers with the rear end. It is the last thing to touch the rifling and crown when you send it on its way. A nose pour 35 caliber of proper design would be perfect for a plain base. I question your lube. Vaseline isn't a first choice. It may be enough with your hard bullets though. Don't forget about maybe trying your hand at powder coating. I am using the rcbs 180 sil gas checked and sized 358 before coating. Load is 4227. Buddy was digging around and gave me a pound of aa1680. Come on warm weather! Every decent day the past month I have had to work.
Suprised Dick hasn't chimed in here. Jeff

Lube has served me well so far on everything i've used it on. So until i have an issue i'll keep on keepin on.seems like someone suggested it. Maybe not.
Im not anti gas checks. But want to do without simply cuz they arent always available.
