What to do with a take-off cylinder?

When I sent my stainless Bisley 45 Colt to Hamilton Bowen to be built into a 45 Colt Nimrod, I kept the factory cylinder to use as a pencil holder. Just having it sitting on the shelf was a bit wobbly, so I had my Dad (who is much better on a scroll-saw than I am) cut me out a little Oregon outline from a piece of maple we had left over from another project.

I think it's fitting given my screename, it's an Oregon 45 pencil holder

Neat. Several of the gunshops in my area have cylinders color cases by Turnbull's for pencil holders on there counters. Popular since Turnbull's is local.
