Just recently bought this stainless Bisley Blackhawk, 45 Colt and the fit and finish are pretty good except for this: Anyone else have a Blackhawk with an exposed firing pin retaining pin? It looks like someone at the factory got a bit overzealous with the buffing wheel. Otherwise, the Bisley's pretty good: It likes 300gr Cast Performance WFNGC's over H110; have a few pounds of Lil' Gun to try out here soon as well.

Every one I've seen looks similar. I suppose they could have machined a recess and welded over it after inserting the pin...

Interesting. None of my other stainless Blackhawk's have the pin showing.

I've seen lots of them like that. Seems like it would be pretty easy to tap it back out flush once you remove the loading gate to gain access to the other end of the pin.

Yeah, just push the pin out a little from the loading gate chute (or all the way out and turn the pin around) and refinish it flush with the surface. Go over it with a scotch bright pad to match the brushed stainless finish.

HAVE SEEN both blue and SS Ruger sixguns including blue 3-screw sixguns that look EXACTLY like that. That information is promtly filed in the who-gives-a-hoot-in-hades-file.

Now that is just terrible. How could anyone possibly live with that? All I have look exactly like that one. I didn`t know I was supposed to dislike it.

If you have a Ruger SA Color Case Hardened, you HAVE to have it like that. You can't install the firing pin/bushing/spring before the CCH, and after you can't guarantee your pin will line up like it was polished. I believe most of the time your 'smith will dome it, blue it and leave it just barely subflush.

Not a big deal at all.
