So years ago I was on a 41 mag kick for a period of time, and moved on--regrettably so. I keep telling myself I will get back on the 41 wagon at some point but keep getting side tracked.
Just today I realized I am slowly turning into an old SOB--hitting 41 years old this fall. Got my wheels a turnin--since I am always coming up with excuses to add a gun. What better time than my 41st year to restart the 41-fanboy game. So this led to the question, as to that special 41, the anchor of a future collection of 41 majesty, what should I get. Not enough time to have a Bowen/Clements/Linebaugh or any of the H's (Harton/Huntington/Horvath) built, so likely looking for secondary market or limited run guns.
For those 41 nuts out there, if looking for that special 41, what would you seek out.
Thanks gents, Will

Will, pick up an old 3 screw Blackhawk in 357 and send it off to Mr. Huntington for a conversion to .41 special. I think you might be surprised at his turn around time. Just a thought. Paul

Gary Reeder makes a 410 GNR. 454 case necked down to .41 gives you 414 power out of a standard length Blackhawk cylinder frame. Gary has loading data and dies. Properly headstamped brass is out there too. There isn't another 41 bore out there that will hold a candle to it.

Axe, are you REALLY saying the Reeder 410 GNR will blow the doors off my 5 shot long cylinder 414?

Okay Will, what exactly are you looking for in 41? Custom conversion, TLA, Freedom Arms or anything slightly abnormal in the 41 caliber?

Something special--ish at least. Maybe a TLA or Freedom Arms or thought even about one of the short barreled Lew Horton S&W from years back. Not really sure.
But if I'm goin down this road figured I'd start it back off with something a little unique.
Guns noted above are cool, love Harton's work but admit the stainless and CCH not my personal taste.
Notion of sending something to Huntington might be an idea though.

Last year I bought a .41 Bisley hunter and a blued Bisley 7 1/2" with a fluted cylinder when I turned 41. Can't wait for my 44th and 45th birthday year. Maybe I will buy one every month those years!!!

I am starting to see my 40's can be fun. Kind of jumped the gun already on my 47.5th and 50.0th.

What better time than my 41st year to restart the 41-fanboy game. Damn. Does that mean I have to buy something in .43 Spanish this year? I don't WANT anything in .43 Spanish...

Comparing a 410 GNR to a 414 SM.... We going to the loading manual? 410 does 170s to 1900, 210s to 1800, and 250s to 1650 on a standard length cylinder. Go stretch frame and Reeder has his 41 GNR #2 with 255s to 2000. The 414 is nice but it is 70s technology!

Looking to get a Ruger Birdshead Vaquero in 45 ACP next year. And that's where I stop...no 475s, 480s or 50s for me
