How about some .41 magnum double action bliss? Smith & Wesson model 58 in .41 magnum...

Axe...have you done much loading for the .410 GNR? Was wondering what kind of velocities you are getting...
Thanks...Bob

thought I'd chime in, as a collector, I could have started this thread myself... my trouble is I'm already heavy in 45 & .429 caliber guns... & there is just not too much difference in the bore between the 41 & the .429... I'm not much afraid of adding more calibers as I already reload for over 75 different ones... for me it's more a problem of space... but I have nothing in 41... so it would be a totally fresh venture ( no sharing bullets )... kind of why I don't have a 6mm or 8mm Magnum... always lover the cartridges... but my .243 was my 1st rifle, & the 6mm is close & in some ways better, but when variety is the spice of life... they are just too close... I've also had a 338 Win Mag for years, & a couple of 8mm Mausers... the 8mm Magnum packs a bit more punch, but for scarceness of the brass compared to the 338... I just couldn't spare the space... much is similar with the 41... maybe someday, but I'm getting to the point, that I'd have to let something go, to make room for a 41... I kinda have one space left in the single action revolver rack... & that's reserved for a 480 Ruger

A caliber that is easy to load, accurate, and powerful. It is too boringly effective... like I said... paraphrasing a little....

Another safe, a bigger house... You can make a 41 work for you! I'll own up to not having loaded a single round for my 410 GNR. I've got dies, brass, and bullets. I'll load some one day. FWIW the guys on the Reeder forum speak highly of it. I believe Reeder's intent was to match 414 ballistics.

I have a gun just like yours but with a 5.5" barrel and was just wondering if there was enough velocity difference to make it worth it. The second cylinder is now .41 GNR and with top loads for the .41 Magnum and .41 GNR using a 170 Sierra JHC there is only 3.5 grains of H110 difference which amounts to 50+- fps difference... I spoke with Gary when I was in Az. in 2013 and he said it can be done since the gun is a 5-shot... Bob

The 41 mag works well in the field or at the range...... These 2 pics are all the reason in the world to want a 41. I am a relatve lightweight as I only have 3. But they are all wonderfully accurate, relatvely light recoiling hammers. Being primarily a hunter and not LEO or competitve shooter they are all I could ever ask for in a hunting handgun except for the very largest game.

I'll try and warn fellow travelers here if I can. I put off getting a 41 magnum for some 30+ years, telling myself one reason after another why I didn't need a 41 magnum. Then that dirty, rotten, er... gentleman (cough! Robb! cough!) posted a sweet FA 97 in 41 magnum for a heck of a price, threw in bullets, brass, loaned dies and a mould... and I went for it. Now... Now, wouldn't you know it... I'm already looking for a 2nd and a 3rd one.... we5oi1h346tawlghwE;RJhweklhgv!!!

I am a .45 guy. I love 'em. If I had to give up a caliber, it would be .44. After all they are really only .43 +/- anyway!!
