On another forum I was asked the difference in POI between 38s and 357s at 7 yds shooting DA. The lower group is the 38s and the upper are the 357s. I'm an old Smith guy but I'm really falling in love with this MC.

How do you like the trigger, DA, SA? How does it compare to a factory or tuned Smith?

seancass: It will never be a Smith but it is just as smooth. Coiled mainspring vs. a flat mainspring, the trigger is different but just as good as a Smith. As the trigger is depressed the cylinder roll is smooth with no glitches and the sear release is precise and clean. Pull weight on DA is 9-10 pounds and getting lighter through use. Have close to a thousand rounds through this heater. Got it in January.
Single action is crisp and as good or better than a lot of Smiths. 4lb letoff. Istarted using this MC as a competition gun but I carry it many places now. Ignition is reliable and it handles hot 357s and never stutters nor falters. The Novaks are quick to align and good enough for25 yard work and beyond.
I have a Model 27 5" that I have enjoyed for a long time but it has been relegated to safe queen status since I purchased this MC. 90% plus of all my shooting revolvers is DA work, and I grow fonder of the MC everytime I exercise it whether with magnums or specials.

seancass: It reminds me of an Official Police 4" but with excellent field sights, a bbl that is a smidgen heavier for balance, and shoots a herkimer defense caliber. I like it too! I carry it in an old Roy Baker Pancake made a Smith and Wesson K frame and use 586 speedloaders.

I have something like the poor-man's version! But i lose out on sights, grip, and finish. And probably accuracy and smoothness too. Just the regular compromises of a cheap gun! I like the GP100 grip much better than the square butt Smith grip. The Hogues I put on it helped it fit my hand a little better. Makes me want a GP100! Or a long barreled SP101.

Is that a Model 10HB or a Model 13? Only possible I ever shot while in the academy was with a Model 65 4'. Had to borrow it from a friend as the hammer nose on my 19 work hardened and broke. Idaho State Police were issued the 65 4" in the late 70s early 80s.
In all honesty I love the old K frame HB M&Ps, very few of them showed up around my part of the Rocky Mtns. Would buy one today if I could find one at a decent price. Police and Sheriff's Offices usually issued 357s when I was coming up through the ranks.
You didn't lose a thing with that Smith, greatest revolver action ever made, period!

It's a 13. It's a working gun for sure(Beater). You can see someone along the lines apparently cold-blued the cylinder, and a spot on the barrel. Most of the screws are badly buggered too! But it's got a good trigger and with the wear/abuse, I'm not afraid to get a holster for it and take it out on the trail! I paid a pretty rich price for this one, but it did include a little scope and mount! The gun is just so slick without it, I can't bring myself to keep it on there!

That gun should shoot little tiny groups at various distances, near and far, without a scope. I've been looking for a 3" 65. I want to have the front sight ground off and have a Novak night sight put on via a dovetail.
I've really become spoiled using night sights on my carry guns. I'm hoping Mepro will produce a night sight for the MC.
