Just got this stainless XR3 grip frame back today from Bob Leskovec: www.propistolgrips.com The grips are synthetic ivory, aged by Bob and carved with my initials. Bob's fit and finish are just fantastic and the snythetic material is "warm" like real ivory or paper micarta, unlike some synthetics (such as Corian) which tend to feel "cold" in my hands. They are also lighter than Corian or Micarta grips. Going to bolt this frame up to my 4 5/8" Ruger 45 Colt Flattop once I get it back from having a Power Custom Bisley hammer set installed. Should make for a nice setup. Throughout the process of ordering and having these grips made, Bob was great at communicating--both by email and by phone. The use of a blind screw on the right-hand grip panel was Bob's idea, he called and suggested using it to avoid detracting from the carving. That's good service. Now I just have to decide which grip frame I'll be sending him next I'm thinking a Bisley grip frame from one of my 44 Flattops, with some type of carving. Need to break out my sixgun reference books and decide on a design.

Very nice! The aged yellow coloring looks great.

I really like it. From what I gathered in our conversations, the material does not come colored so Bob applies the coloring by hand. The streaks run with the grain of the material and have almost a "reflective" character that I couldn't quite capture in the photograph.

Are they supposed to be a surprise for me? I mean, putting my initials on them and all. I'm overwhelmed!

Bob does great work. I have genuine ivory with Skeeter Skelton buffalo skull on a favorite Colt. Also have his synthetic B Western stags on my CFD New Vaquero. Also Keith steer head on genuine ivory 1911 grips. They couldn't be better.
