I found a pair of old armies Blued with brass dragoon frames. I have them on hold and will go back to verify if actual ruger frames. Guns seem to be in very nice cond. I don't know much about these so I am not sure as to value and what to look for. Any info will be appreciated.

Ruger did produce them with brass frames, but I don't know how many. If you decide to pass on the buy, I would love to have one. I've been looking for one with a brass frame for a while, but not real hard.

Even if these guns have aftermarket brass grip frames, that's a good buy.

If you want to see if they are real Ruger supplied frames, ask the seller to remove one's grip panels and you should see MR3-BD cast into the brass near the butt end of the grip frame on the inner web. Frankly, the brass grip frames themselves are worth almost as much as the cost of the gun at $350 per gun.

Ok it is a original brass frame. I bought one and my buddy bought the other. The one I purchased is made in 1973 and the other is made in 1972. I am going to call Ruger to see if this grip frame was shipped on the gun. I may get the letter also.
Next question is what grip frames are interchangeable? I may install a different grip and sell this one. Pics to follow.

You can swap that one for an old model SBH, an old model XR3-RED or an old model XR3 off a flat top. You can also go with a new model grip frame if you order one of David Clements adaptor triggers.

I'd love to get more info on the gun for my book research,if you are willing to share. I can email you a data survey form. Thanks! Beautiful gun!

TLA contracted engraving out to various engravers and I was curious if you knew who engraved this one. It looks almost identical to a pattern on two factory engraved #5s I have.
