I got this 40 hi power this week. I did a little in formal shooting with it today. good accuracy with a pretty decent trigger compared to my surplus hi powers. needs better grips and I hate the mag ejector spring. it needs some dehorning at the top of the grip and the safety. it may not replace my 9mm hi power but I like the option. I like the 357 sig option also.

I have one also. You said you like the .357 Sig option too. Can you tell me who makes a replacement barrel for this Hi Power?

Never heard of them. Do you have an address? Do they have a website?

Nice pistol. I have a 9mm and love it. I like the ambi. safety on yours.

Hard to beat the ergonomics of the HP... I played with the 40 S&W HP back in the 90s. My only complaint was the cartridge. Don't think I'll ever be a 40 S&W fan.

Vonfatman, the safety is the factory one they put on the new mk3 hi powers since about 89.
Axe, the 40 s&w is the great compromise round, small frame pistol, capacity, bore size and if you pick the right ammo it's ballistics can be close to a 357 sig or 357 mag (158 gr bullets) or 45 acp. Also a lot of factory 10mm ammo on is only 40s&w +p.
