Here's a picture of my 45. My poor phone can't take a clear picture to save it's life. Could be the operator... This 45 is a Great shooter! Puts bullets where you ask it to. I'll almost be sad when I have to send it off to be bored out!

I used to have a stock Bisley Vaquero in 44 mag Then I sent it away to spend some time with Jack Huntington and it came home like this.

As promised here is the one I just picked up from Cabelas, had it shipped to my local store from ME. Looks to be near new, little evidence of firing outside the factory. bore and crown perfect. Nice grips, no finish or color case issues. Chamber mouths are the usual .451 or so, which concerns me not, as my SS Bisley .45 has the same and shoots everything fine.

One thing we have not mentioned about the Ruger Vaqueros. They, of course, have fixed sights. However, the fixed sights have an excellent sight picture (unlike the 1st Generation Colts with their "v" notch sights that you can hardly see, as an example). I have a Cimarron .44 Special that has a great trigger and shoots really well. However, it has sights that are no better than the 1st Generation Colts and it doesn't shoot to the sights.
Before I got my Bisley Vaquero, I had a Ruger 4 5/8" Vaquero. Out of the box, the sights were perfect (at 25 yards) right to left. The front sight was tall enough that I had plenty of material to file it down to regulate for a specific load. I was shooting black powder matches at the time, so regulated the sights for black powder. As it turned out, I could use the same bullet with smokeless (at about the same velocity) and THAT load was regulated, also. I decided I would be able to shoot a bit better with a longer barrel. I sold the Vaquero and bought the Bisley Vasquero. The Bisley shot to the sights right out of the box (dead on at 25 yards). This revolver showed me that the original black powder .45 Colt was a REAL load and undoubtedly served our troops well when it was the issue revolver for the Cavalry.

Reading this thread I realized I don't have a "stock" anything in handguns. This is a serious problem, I must need more guns.
Wait a minute, I just remembered there is a stock 70 Series, Colt Government Model, in the box, sitting in the safe...I still think I need more guns though.

My stainless 5-1/2" Bisley Vaquero in .45 Colt along with a pair a pair of stainless Ruger New Vaquero's also in .45 Colt: Since the above photo was taken, I have acquired another Bisley Vaquero. This one is also a 5-1/2" in .45 Colt and has had a factory full re-blue done on it by the previous owner: My other Bisley Vaquero is a .44 magnum version that originally had a 4-5/8" barrel on it. I had that switched out to a 7-1/2" barrel:

I just bought these two and haven't seen them yet. I have a 7 1/2" 44-40 vaquero that I am going to put one of my Bisley frames on. I think those look great.
