usable, effective big bore caliber? Can the cylinder merely be rebored to 500 JRH or some other caliber, or does a new cylinder have to be made? I know of one in like new condition for about $650.

New cylinder from Magnum Research. They are 199 bucks and 40 shipping. I just contacted them about fitting a 50 AE cylinder for my JRH.

Ya I saw that one too. If I didn't have a fifty in the mix already I might have considered that one and send if off to Huntington for a 500JRH cylinder and his gripframe work and whatever other little touches he might suggest.

There's no law against owning more than one, Snyd. We both have the same idea in mind. I don't like being limited in what I can own, but mere financial limits can be overcome with patience and spending discipline.

Agreed and worth the cost to add versitility. With the govts getting like they are, who knows the future. I think worthwhile to persue and I would gladly pay that for a 50 AE alone.
