Looks like our own wildwill is bidding on this one. Good luck, Will?

I bought some .475 Maximum brass -- now all I need is a revolver so chambered!

Sounds like some of my doings... Find brass & dies and start looking for a gun.. There are a few 475 Linebaugh Longs sitting out there..

Max, sounds like you need to send off gun to Jack and start a Jin and Jang set of maximums!

I imagine there are a few folks that need this gun more than I, but couldn't help myself but bid on it.
Would have remained steadfast and strong till I saw it was serial number 1. Thats just kinda cute.

FWIW the stainless Bisley grip frame on mine and I'm guessing the ones on the GB 475 Max too are not Ruger parts. Linebaugh had a few made way back when.. The unique markings on them under the grips are lost in my old head right now...

This gun is the brother to the one I recently sold. The original owner spend a week or more with John and the two of them built this gun #1 and gun #2 which I had. In talking to John about the gun once I bought #2 from the original owners widow, he said that the porting was added later after he had finished the guns. The current high bidder is the same guy who bought #2 from me.
John gave me a price of about $600 to rebarrel the gun back to its original specs.
Someone please buy this thing so I don't have to just to keep it within the forum family.

Axe--on the grip frames, I was pretty sure Limebaugh just made stainless ones bc Ruger did not make a stainless bisley at the time. Shortly after he had spent the time and money to get tooled up, Ruger came out with the stainless bisley frames--that's why there are aren't too many of those stainless Linebaugh frames around. That 500max I had was fitted with one too.
Really like the two to e look of your 475 long. Didn't care for my 500 Long as much with the stainless cylinder. Big fan of two tone, but not so much with the cylinder.
Buy it Robb--it'll look good on you--kind of like #2 did.

Never been a pinto gun fan but Will, I for some reason, I REALLY liked that 500! Still regret not taking it. Hahaha

I stayed in until it topped 3K but I expected it to go higher than that. The buyer is the same person who bought the 475 Linebaugh Long #2 gun from me several months ago so now he and his son have the first two John made.

I planned to jump back in for a bit as well--but got tied up at the courthouse and didn't make it out in time. No matter as I wouldn't have taken as high anyway. I liked that it was #1 for sure, but admit after having my 500L Long, there is little interest on my end in the Longs. Pretty cool, but decided I had found my overall comfort limit ends with the stiff 475 and 500 Linebaugh short loads.

It could have been one of the SS gripframes Davis had on the two tone Single Sixes
