Cool, yes. Practical. ...... There are not really many riflemen left. I shoot a heck of a lot more than the average "shooter". I consider myself proficient but still I don't consider myself a true rifleman. By today's standards I may actually be some kind of x spurt. ( x spurt = x equals 0. Spurt is a drip under pressure). I have seen it in about every sport I have ever fooled with an out and out equipment race. A body can spend a lot of money on things it still doesn't make them better at what ever they are fooling with. I guess what I mean is you can take a mediocre to fair shooter spend $10000 on a gun and they shoot it no better than a used $300 remchester.
I myself am waiting till the get the above mentioned really perfected. It will have a game dial on it, deer elk bear moose etc. then you load it take it out and leave it in the timber. Go home and wait for a text and GPS coordinates of the animal. :-) I mean really is that maybe not in the future? Just a short 20 years ago how many of us here would have said something like the Internet was possible? Let alone me sitting here typing a message for the world to see on my phone? EK is what heros are. But looking back the Jetsons Buck Rogers and 007 looks fairly normal today huh? Jeff

That will work great from a heated deer blind they drove their four wheeler too.... Remind me never to go to that site again... I think your over reacting... hunters have evolved with tech. remember they used 44 cap and ball pistols riding horse's shooting buffalo... scopes for elk/smokeless powders/ set triggers for accuracy/hair triggers for protection and accuracy/ fly in hunts tech is needed as needed : as a child I remember there was a rat in the kitchen, my dad had it jammed between the refrigerator with a broom yelling at my older brother to grab a kitchen knife and stab it. he did.. I was 7 my brother was 13. that rat died. mom was glad . we had guns in our parents closet unloaded.. Tracy Ford of Maryland /ex-military reintroduced wild turnkeys in Maryland on fort Meade. He guides solders with heated 4x4 trucks / wheel chairs to hunt them...wheel chairs in the woods I know you think this is OK I see this new tech has more of a military slant then hunting, I mean 1000 yard kill shot for game is that really necessary any where..?

Not even cool, really, if you look at what it's really doing. All I see is gimmick.

I find the technology of it impressive and amazing, however, not something I ever see myself being interested in beyond saying..."wow, it's cool we have the tech to do that"
I'm sure I'll always be perfectly happy with iron sights the challenges they bring.

That thing doesn't allow for snap shooting after coming awake for whatever reason when you fall asleep at the base of a tree during a dog run. People will buy whatever fancies them. I'm old school (as old as 48 can be)and have no use for it. They'll sell every one they make thogh I'll betcha. Although I do appreciate a GA Precision 338 that'll do head shots at 600 effortlessly......
The basis of this website is "anti" that concept from the get go.

I fired one at SHOT Show Media Day. 1000-yard shots where NOTHING; so easy I didn't even get any satisfaction from it, just felt like I was holding a shooting machine. Great technology, but soulless.
