Does Mag-na-port mark guns that they modify? I figure this is a Mag-na-port gun, but can't find any such mark. If they don't, would you mind offering your opinion as to whether or not you think it's a Mag-na-port job? The barrel was cut and recrowned, front sight installed, and, of course, the barrel ported. The barrel is now 4 1/4". Thanks for any opinions and comments. Also, do you think it's worth $600?

thats definitely a MagNaPort port job but the cut & re-crown could have been done before someone sent it to them. at least judging from the pics it does all appear to be professionally executed. the front sight is a Power Universal front that Brownells gunsmithing supply used to keep in stock. $600 price would be considered steep for a modified and used S&W M629 around these parts.

I beleive (at least according to the literature they sent me when I sent in very hard kicking rifle) that you have to ask to get mag-na-port to mark your gun now

I also feel $600 is a bit much for a modified 629. But I'm not fond of extra holes in the BBL either. Frank

If it is what you want, it is not unreasonable. I'm negotiating on a Andy Cnnon M-29 with a M-24 6.5" barrel for about 600.00.

I saw yours on Gord's board. I like yours better. I may just move mine along after I shoot it a little. I ended up getting it to help a friend out of a bind. Oh well.
Thanks for the replies.
