Gentleman: This is what they are doing to us here in New York. There are several law suits going forward to try and have this travesty and it's provisions repealed but as we know the legal system moves at a snails pace. It's a shame that this "law" did not go through the usual process for passing such as I am sure it would have been struck down...That's why they rushed it through basically in the dark of night. www.governor.ny.gov/2013/gun-reforms-faqAgain I will post the NYSRPA site for those in New york. www.nysrpa.org/

Have you noticed the use of the phrase,(common sense) when liberals speak of gun control. I haven,t seen them use much if any common sense.

The other word is "reasonable". As if when you dont agree, you are not being reasonable. My current pet peeve is this throwing around percentage numbers of NRA members who want more background checks and say its OK to ban assault weapons. Largely BS I think.

All I really picked on the registration part is they were kind enough to give the gun lovers who also enjoy their unregistered privacy until April 2014. Plants of time to move. It's not like you have to worry about going somewhere with higher taxes.

Actually, one NBC poll alleges that 90% of gun owners want new gun laws. It's all in the questions they ask. For example: Would you rather have a gun background check passed or have your left testicle removed with wire pliers? Maybe not that extreme..but show us the poll and the questions. How many people were surveyed, where do they live, who did the survey...blah, blah, blah... I think it's BS.
I like what one person said "if they pass legislation to register and confiscate...my guns won't be illegals, they'll just be undocumented".

And you still choose to live there why?? What a dumba$$ remark. It's so easy for someone to vomit out that old chestnut. Most people are not rich and in a situation to say, I think I'll move to another state tomorrow. They probably have a history there, you know small insignificant things like family, relatives and friends. Not to mention a home, maybe a business or a good job with seniority. Then of course there's the kids to tear away from their friends and school to go to a new location where they feel completely alone. Some people are just not in a financial position to just hop in the car and move like you evidently are. So, maybe you should think a little bit before asking that stupid question, like you're so surprised that everyone can't just hop in the car and move to a different state.

I agree Cary. I live in New York. The laws they recently passed are wrong, but all I can continue to do is write my Legislators, who by the way, are both pro 2nd amendment. I have a great job, a home that is paid for, and my wife's mother lives here. Not mention 3 little grandkids that love their granpa and grammy. I don't see myself leaving anytime. Besides, who knows what new laws are coming to the "free" states.

So far it looks like the majority of the counties in New York have passed or proposed resolutions in opposition of the New York safe act. Down state, which is a whole different culture, will no doubt not even take up the issue. There is a rally in Albany this Thursday the 28th in capitol park to oppose the safe act. There has been a huge amount of support for the rally and I am thinking that Mayor (nanny)Bloomberg and the Governor are a little bit worried. I am sure they have a hand in this counter demonstration. www.1199seiu.org/ny_safe_act_to_end_gun_violenceIt should be entertaining just to watch the liberal uniontards froth at the mouth.
