I'm waiting (as patiently as possible) for my Stainless 475 Bisquero, 5 1/2" octagon and the Black Micarta grips. These photos show that it's worth the wait.

As a kid up through early adulthood until I enlisted in the Navy all my discretionary income was generated by Trapping. I specialized in muskrats and coons. Possums(always in my carefully crafted dirt-hole sets for foxes)and foxes with the occasional mink and/or weasel.
The Navy kept me away from trapping. Now that I'm retired in western Washington state there is too much legislation e.g. no leg hold traps and fur prices are too low to hold my interest.
My dad is still going strong though trapping coyotes, beaver and coons in central Nebraska.

I am a huge Hi-Power fan. My EDC is a 1911 but I lusted over some of the Novak/Robar/Cylinder and Slide etc., customs. When I retired from the navy I found a nice Israeli surplus MKIII. I sent it off to Novak's and had the full meal deal done. Took 6 months and I am very happy with the result. It came with G-10 stocks but I switched them out for Spegel cocobolo.

A good friend's father, a retired Georgia LEO got killed in a motorcycle wreck a couple of weeks ago. When they went into his gun room to perform an inventory, among other treasures they found on his inventory sheet(He was OCD about his firerarms) a 19-4 that the sheet stated was unfired.
My friend says it appears new, box and papers are there.
I'd like to buy it but I'm not sure what it's worth. I don't want to short him he's a good friend.
Any estimates?

JW,
NO worries! As stated, I was checking on my own project after TWO years. Maybe we will both get our projects back sooner rather than later now that we have both talked to him.
All the best,
Andy (SubDoc)

I believe when he bought more property his hay business has over taken his gun-building. I know I knew that when I sent him my vaquero.
I haven't pestered hm at all. I have sent two texts in this whole time period. I'd rather wait and get what I want then have him hurry.
All the good ones have a substantial wait. John is nearly 2 years out and he is doing this full time.
Bowen turns them out quicker if you get one of his package guns but he has help as does Jack Huntington.
